Donna Fluery
Donna Fluery was in to learn to use our APQS Millie machine. She brought in this lovely little quilt all done in batiks.
Donna chose a Glide thread called Tar Heel, which is actually a lovely soft blue. Tar Heel as a name makes me think of steel toed mens work boots!
The panto she chose is called Seamless because it is just so simple but looks so perfect! Her quilt looked amazing!

Diana Hewins
Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt 2 gorgeous little quilts. She is to be a Grandma pretty quick so she needed to get the first one done!
Done is soft flannels this is guaranteed to be a favourite with baby and mom.
This quilt really shows that sometimes simple is the best way to go! Thank you to Diana for sharing your day with us!

Diana Hewins ..... #2 quilt!
Diana Hewins long arm quilted this one right after doing the baby quilt. This one is super fun as it is done in comic hero fabrics.....batman is prominent!
The quilt is going to her son and wife as they are crazy for Batman. We suggested she could use it as a tree skirt this holiday season! I think she was good up until I told her she would have to cut up the quilt to the center and then make a hole for the tree. Some of the sparkle went out of her eyes at that point. Bill then suggest she could put the tree on top of the quilt and not have to cut her quilt up! Presto....the sparkle went back in her eyes! LOL

Shanamay Beecroft
Shanamay was in to long arm quilt one of the largest quilts we have seen. This one is made of her husbands TShirts of all Harley designs. Final measurements of the quilt are 116" x 103"!!
What a fabulous way to make something for someone that is so unique and you just know is going to be treasured for a lifetime.

It a Joni Newman Day Nov 9th
Save the date next Saturday November 9th for a fun day at the Shelf. Joni will be here to do demos, launch her beginner applique BOM and share some snacks and giggles.
No cost to come and meet Joni and see what all the fuss is about. We will have mark downs that day as well , so you may want to back the car up to the door and open the trunk....LOL

New Classes coming!!

New classes are coming quick....real quick!
Next scheduled Stained Glass class is Saturday, November 16 and another on Saturday, November 23rd. These are one day classes with the artist herself, Joni Newman. There is room in both classes.
We have a few spaces left in the panel magic class on November 2nd which is also a Saturday. Cost of class is $60 plus your kit.
November 9th, also a Saturday, we have Joni Newman for the day doing demos, and meet and greets. This is also the day we start our Beginner Applique course. Picture of the Beginner Applique course, Northern Seas, is shown. Cost of the Block of the Month is $22.95 per month. The sample of the BOM is in the shop as well as on the website.
Lastly we have a Beginner Sampler course starting November 12th and running every Tuesday evening from 6 - 9 pm. You will be making 6 blocks. Photos on that one are coming.

Rev your Engines Ladies!!
Rev your engines up for our next great event!! Betty Oswell and I have a super fun project for everyone. The pattern is free in store only, and you can make anything you want using the applique for a poinsettia. You can even make it bigger or smaller! Make a potholder, a placemat, tablerunner or super size it to a lap or bed size quilt! We are really excited to see all the creativity you have.

My Kinda Town
New in the shop....Pattern by Peggy Larsen for Fiberworks. My Kinda Town is a paper pieced project finishing at 42" x 54".
You will need 2 1/4 meters for backgrounds and for the rest just pull from your stash.....if you have a big enough stash. If your stash needs building up....we can help you with that...LOL.By using your fabrics in your stash your town will reflect you and your taste in colours and textures. How cool is that? Don't forget your outer border [.6 m] to really finish off your masterpiece!

Stained Glass Class in November
Joni Newman, the creator of her unique Stained Glass technique, is back on Nov. 16 or the 23rd to teach you all the tricks to the trade of stained glass with fabrics!
