Monday Morning with Paulette
|
|
I am back to the shop now and new videos will be coming with Paulette and her fabulous stash projects. If you too have a large amount (or even a small amount) of stash fabrics check out the YouTube channel to see what you can make with it.
Every 2nd Monday morning, Paulettle Eccleston will be showing one of her scrap quilts with instructions for how to put the block together!!!
Subscribe to our YouTube channel to be kept in the loops as to all the shenanigans going on at the Shelf.
Tips and tricks, inspiration, trips down memory lane and of course there are bound to be some giggles in there.
The patterns will be free but cannot for the life of me, figure out how to attach to the video. In the interim you can email me to request the pattern and I am happy to forward you the pattern. info@fabricshelf.ca This has been a learn as we go for both Paulette and myself. We would like to thank you for all your patience and encouragement

Linda Andersen
|
|
Linda Andersen brought 3 quilts in to be longarmed. I chose this one to show as it is so beautifully done in ocean blues with a crisp white background. A sampler quilt finishing at 43" square this one would look great on the wall or back of the couch.
The E2E design chosen is I Dream of Feathers with Glide thread Pale Mist for the top. A beautiful quilt with a calm ocean feel to it.
Thank you to Linda for sharing with us!

Terry Dobert
|
|
Terry Dobert brought her gorgeous Postage stamped framed quilt in to be long arm quilted. A relatively simple pattern but this one really lets the fabrics be the star of the show. It finished at a bed size of 88" x 100".
the quilt was long armed using the E2E design Flirtacious, a fabulous design for adding movement to the quilt as well as locking down all the seams.
Thank you to Terry for sharing with us all!

Debbie Dobson created this gorgeous Kaffe Fassett quilt using a Kaleidoscope pattern. The large prints, vibrant tones and a modern pattern with a vintage twist all combined to create a gorgeous quilt that is sure to become a family heirloom. Don't you just love those rich jewel tones?
The Stack and Whack quilt finished at 60" square for a great wall hanging or couch quilt. The quilt was long armed using the E2E design Modern Curves with Glide thread Reef for the top.
Thank you so much, Debbie for sharing. Your quilt is amazing!

Pat Crawford
|
|
Pat Crawford started with this inspiring poem written by Laurel Burch and built it out from there. Typical of Laurel Burch, the colours are vibrant, nature is strong and a meaningful message included. All put together into one amazing wall hanging! I could get the message to show clearly so I have it below: Close your eyes and Dream a Dream and seek the courage to make it real. Reflect on the Past Envision the future and embrace today with an open heart and soul Laurel Burch
Pat's quilt was long arm quilted by Leslie with E2E design Sea Foam and glide thread Mercury. Thank you to Pat for sharing with us all! Your quilt is gorgeous!

Corrie Esselink
|
|
This quilt is a show stopper with gorgeous Tilda fabrics, an amazing pattern called North Star and long arm quilting that is just incredible. All combined to create Corrie's quilt and she is rightfully so proud of it! She is is keeping this one. So would I , Corrie!
Corrie chose to have the quilt done E2E with a design called Ada. The pattern is just so perfect with feathers, pearls and soft swirls of Glide thread in a Cream tone. Gosh, I am getting all goose bumpy just describing it! LOL
Well done Corrie and thank you so much for sharing!

Canadian Wartime Quilts
|
|
During the Second World War, fabric and clothing rations were just as severe as food and fuel.
Clothes rationing began in 1941 with the distribution of 66 coupons yearly to every adult.
The allowance was later cut to 48 coupons, then 36, and by 1944 only 20 coupons. Clothes rationing continued until 1949.
Over 400,000 quilts were sent from Canada overseas for the war effort!!!
