Meet Your Neighbour

Ellie Pitre

Meet Ellie Pitre. Ellie was born in Holland and moved to Canada as a toddler. First settling in Edmonton she then moved to Kamloops in 1964. Ellie graduated from North Kamloops High School and began working here in Kamloops. She does bookkeeping to this day!

She had been sewing but had always wanted to try quilting. In 2003 she took a beginner class at Katja's quilt store and the rest is history!

Her favourite part of quilting is the piecing. She loves to see the project come together! She has recently learned how to use our long arm and is now finishing her own quilts like crazy.

Nice to meet you Ellie and keep on quilting girl!

Donna Rickman

  002-5

Donna Rickman was the winner of the August basket of goodies!

She finally got home to come in and pick it up. A bucket filled to the brim with quilting treasures awaited her! I know what she was doing all afternoon!

Congratulations Donna and enjoy!

Mary Jane Reid

  021

Mary Jane Reid was in to long arm quilt this beauty of a Fall quilt. Using her fabrics from Wilmington she created this lovely lap size quilt. I just love the look of this one Mary Jane!

Mary Jane has booked every Tuesday for the month of October in the hopes of getting caught up on some of her UFOs. Good luck with that Mary Jane....said with tongue in cheek. LOL.

Agnes Olsen

008-2

Agnes Olsen was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous scrappy quilt.

I love it when I get to see her quilts as Agnes never follows the rules! LOL She starts with a basic pattern idea and then does her own thing creating  the best in scrappy, slightly planned quilts.

It is so inspiring to see what she does.

Five Star Runner

  001

Linda Rowbotham from Haida Gwaii was in to teach the Five Star Runner class and a ton of fun was had by everyone!

This is a photo of the Friday group of ladies. Don't you just love the different look to every one of the projects? With a simple change in the colour scheme you get such a different look!

Well done ladies and a huge thank you to Linda for coming to see us!

Five Star Runner

007-2

This is a photo of the group from the Saturday class of the Five Star Runner. The class was a real learning experience as it was a completely new way of thinking to assemble the blocks. They look as though they are paper pieced, but they are not. Once you get your head wrapped around the process it goes really fast. The technique was developed originally by Jan Mullen from Australia.

Robyn Sheils

  018

Robyn Sheils was in to long arm quilt her stunning quilt made by Heather Sheils. All done in warm citrus colours it is truly a lovely quilt for a lucky recipient.

Robyn is pretty proficient on the long arm and enjoys trying new pantos out and is open to all kinds of different colour choices in her Glide threads.

Love this quilt Robyn and Heather!

Aren't these just the cutest little mug coasters? Perfect for the fall season you can make them up using scraps.

These would also make great little gifts for friends or maybe for guild? Sharon Holland has a great blog with some very doable patterns available to everyone.

Check out the link and make some of these this weekend: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/53a43e9ce4b01c88f6aae670/t/5ba1045621c67c8e4f696e5f/1537279067449/Apple+Season.pdf
