Susan Green

susan-green-dragon-flies

Susan Green was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous dragonfly quilt. Guess what one of her very favourite colours is?.....yep it is green, of course!

Susan came in and really wanted to stitch dragonflies on this one, so Bill to the rescue! Bill was able to help her to use the computer to stitch out some gorgeous whirling and swirling dragonflies for a perfect finish!

Thank you to Susan for sharing your creativity and to Bill for being there every single time you are needed!

Trudy Vietch

trudy-veitch-squares

Trudy Vietch was in to take the class on the long arm quilting machine. She brought this Oh So Cute little lap quilt to learn on.

All made from 2 1/2" strips this quilt is fast and easy to put together. As the first quilt for her to quilt on the long arm it was perfect with loads of reference lines to keep everything straight and even for perfect results! The computer was used as Trudy had a foot injury. Quilted up beautifully and she was a happy lady! Again Bill was there to make it happen for her!

Thank you to Trudy for sharing!

We are participating in this program!

We are helping the NSBIA in this fabulous opportunity to give back to our community.

Heather's Fabric Shelf will be a Drop Off point for gently used purses that you are passing on with some items inside for women in need.

This has been a challenging year for many of us and the need is greater than ever before. In the picture you see Patti up to her knees in purses.....now imagine Patti with purses up to her thighs!

Let's have some fun with this and load those purses with fun items, useful items and de-clutter our closets at the same time!

New Quilt Kits by Joni Newman

my-thompson-view

Joni Newman was up for a few days helping her daughter move to the Island. She stayed at my house and we had a marvellous time! Of course I did manage to get her in the shop to kit some of her projects.

Joni is a pattern designer with her own pattern company called Quirks and Quilts with loads of gorgeous projects. When she was living here a year ago she designed two patterns for Kamloops. One is called Pioneer View, shown below, which is the view from Pioneer Beach looking across the river. The other is called My Thompson View, shown on the right, taken from on Schubert Drive looking across the North Thompson towards Mt. Peter and Mt. Paul.

Joni has re-kitted them and they are ready to go. Find them in the shop or on the website : http://www.fabricshelf.ca

Sandra Hall

sandra-hall

This one might make your eyes leak a little bit. Sandra Hall designed this quilt and made it for a great niece.

Only her 2nd quilt ever and this is what she does!!!! Are you kidding me? She drew it, drafted it, stitched it using her own fabrics and some of her mom's fabrics.

Now the emotional part.....her mom recently passed away and Sandra says she felt that her mom was guiding her all the way! Okay now I am crying while I type this. Just an amazing quilt done by an amazing woman with her amazing mom's help! What a true heirloom this one is.

Thank you Sandra for being such an inspiration and turning us all into puddles....keep designing, you are incredible!

Paulette Eccleston

Beautiful quilt, Paulette and thank you for sharing your day with us! Really enjoyed the pot pie at lunch time and was just all around a lovely day!

Stephanie Webster

stephanie-webster-4-patch

Stephanie Webster was in to show us her quilt she made using a free pattern from Robert Kaufman Fabrics.
Her choice in colours
is super with a clear contrast from the pink to the white. The long arm quilting was done by her friend in Vernon.
Well done Stephanie and I love it! For the free pattern click here: https://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/four_patch_charm_quilt/
