Kathy Elliott

fractured-star-kathy-elliott

Kathy Elliott was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous Fractured Star quilt. Pattern is by Quiltworx and is done all in blue Toscana fabrics.

Kathy chose a gorgeous panto called Rip Curl and it turned out beautiful! Lori Dewart was on hand to help Kathy with the logistics of the long arming which made a great team!

Thank you to Kathy for sharing your project with us all and inspiring me to get some of those projects out of the closet and get them done!!!

Kerry Nicholas

kerry-nicholas-two-laps

Kerry Nicholas was in to long arm two small lap quilts in one day! Kerry is a pretty adventurous quilter always ready to try new designs and open to different thread options. Not too sure how she manages to move out of her box so easy but she does it so smooth!

The patterns are from the book I had mentioned earlier called 3 Yard Quilts. Pretty darn amazing you can create such amazing projects with 3 fabrics 1 meter each!

Thank you to Kerry for sharing your day and your passion for your craft!

Donna Fluery

donna-fluery-2

Donna Fluery was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous queen size quilt for her granddaughter.

Donna did a superb job of the piecing which made the long arming so much easier for her. As with ourselves, the less lumps and bumps the better.

Donna chose a panto called Baroque Hearts and set her mind to it and had it done in a day. The panto is fairly dense and lots of stops and swirls so it was a bit challenging. Donna just got down to it with Bill's help and was she excited to see it all done! She is actually grinning from ear to ear behind the mask.

Thank you to Donna for coming in to share with everyone!

Update on Kathy Mirtle's Stash

kathy stocking

I have an update on Kathy Mirtle's Christmas Stash contest.

Kathy has been working hard at getting through her collection of scraps from over the years. Please note this is only her Christmas. She claims that if we used her entire stash she would never get through. LOL

Stockings have been high on her list of favourite projects to work on and these are just beautiful. I especially love the blue with silver metallic accents.
Mind you, the plaid on the other ones are pretty darn awesome as well!

As you may know we have been taking guesses as to when she will have used up all the Christmas fabric. Looks like she is down to just a few pieces so send your best guesses to win a fat quarter pack.

Send me an email with best guess: info@fabricshelf.ca

This quilt is offered as a BOM or purchase it outright.
Full price on the kit is $299.99.

If you want to start payments now of $50 a month you will have the kit - or most of it - paid for when it arrives! How cool is that?  Works out to $12 and change per week so very affordable for everyone.

Call of the Wild - Out on a Limb

call-of-the-wild-out-on-a-limb
Don't you just see this quilt in so many different colours and variations?

It is like a log cabin quilt but more stylized. The center of the blocks would be a great area to use a focus print you really want to show off.

Pretty simple to make and easy to change the size up. the pattern has it finish at 73" x 85". I will definitely have this one on the bucket list!

Check it out at Dear Stella fabrics for the free download pattern:
