Looking for Quilt Donations

As many of you know or have heard the fires close to Kamloops have been devestating this summer with many people losing their homes or facing substantial rebuilds.

As the cooler weather sets in the quilts and pillowcases are sure to bring much comfort at a very difficult time!

We are looking for Quilt and or Pillowcase donations to send out.

We are operating as a drop off place from where they will be taken directly to the people impacted.

Thank you to everyone who has brought quilts and pillowcases in. Your generosity is so appreciated.

There are hundreds who lost homes and possessions so there is a great need for quilts and pillowcases.

Gina Barrett

‌

Gina Barrett was in to longarm quilt her darling little child's quilt. Actually her mom, Anna Hoof, pieced the quilts and Gina wanted to get them quilted and done. Denim was used with the cottons for a soft cozy project.

Bill was Gina's assistant on the long arm machine. The edge to edge digital design Dave's Hot Wheels with Glide thread Mint Julep for the top.

Diane Mousseau

‌

This is one of those quilts that the quilting really brings the project to a whole new level. Diane Mousseau's piecing is fabulous and with all that white negative space, the quilt just cried out  for an amazing quilt design.

Leslie Ford quilted the quilt using edge to edge design Pine Cone Meander. She scaled the pine cones to fit the quilt perfectly and with Glide thread colour Bone the end result is gorgeous! Diane was so thrilled with the outcome!

Karen Webb

Karen Webb brought her stunning quilt in for us to long arm quilt for her. All in rich peacock blues, purples and greens with a rich gold sashing, this quilt is lovely! The quilt is a comfortable lap size of 54" x 67" and will be much loved I am sure!

Bill was the long arm quilter on the quilting using the edge to edge design Bossa Nova and Prickly Pear Glide thread for a beautiful finish!

Sally Andrysiak

Sally Andrysiak brought her jaw dropping gorgeous Wedding Ring Quilt in for us to see. The quilt design is from a book called "Making the Quilts We Didn't Inherit". Don't you just love the name of the book? I am going hunting for it.

The spectacular long arm custom quilting was done by Sharon Blackmore of Love Shack Quilt shop in Airdrie, Alberta.

Wow! Just Wow!!! Sally You are amazing and thank you for inspiring us all!

Are you a Hand Quilter?

Are you a hand quilter and love using a well made quality wooden hoop? We have a customer with one to go to a good home. She really just wants it to go to someone who can use it and appreciate the quality of the hoop.

RIH Raffle Quilt

The always fabulous group of ladies who make up the RIH Auxillary Quilters is back with their raffle quilts and they are amazing! One is a whole cloth quilt which I am  positively drooling over, and the second prize is a gorgeous quilt that is reminiscent of a maze of pathways. Beautiful blues, beiges and white to create the  serene atmosphere.

Tickets are $5 each and available at the shop. Come on in to purchase your tickets here at the shop!

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Wicked Edge

Rick is back in a couple of weeks to sharpen your scissors so bring them in and he will get them all shiny and cutting like new!

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.

Sewing Machine Repair

Machine servicing by Hector and Tammy Symes for a great job and fast turn around.
Bill is over to Salmon Arm each week to see his stepmom and will bring your machines over for Hector to service on the Wednesday.

Have your machines here by the end of business on Tuesday and you have your machine back on Thursday!
