On the Road Again for Bill

Bill is heading down to the coast for services on APQS machines. He has a list of ladies but there is still time to get your name in. Bill will end up going down twice as he has commitment at home early in the week and then will head back down.
I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding as we try to get the man organized and figure out schedules. He is a man in demand and it is sometimes a bit of a challenge getting all the ducks in a row.

RIH Raffle quilt

The always fabulous group of ladies who make up the RIH Auxillary Quilters is back with their raffle quilts and they are amazing! One is a whole cloth quilt which I am positively drooling over, and the second prize is a gorgeous quilt that is reminiscent of a maze of pathways. Beautiful blues, beiges and white to create the serene atmosphere.

Carlina Stewart

Carlina Stewart came in to long arm quilt her incredible quilt she made for her daughter. Carlina has a natural sense of colour and placement of values. She has chosen a navy blue for the sashing which is perfect!
Leslie Ford was the assistant on the quilt with Carlina and they were a team to be reckoned with for sure! The edge to edge design chosen is Asian Lily with Glide thread Prickly Pear for the top.

Wanda McRae

Wanda McRae brought her jaw dropping One Block Wonder quilt in for us to long arm for her. The border fabric is what she started with and the entire center of the quilt is then created using the OBW method! Her navy break in the border was essential to show off the quilting design.
Leslie Ford is the long arm quilter on the project using edge to edge design "Plump" and top thread is Glide Peacock. Personally I think the name "Plump" needs to be adjusted. LOL

Islay Oatway

Islay Oatway brought her gorgeous Batik Pathways quilt in for us to long arm for her. Islay is an impeccable quilt piecer with every seam perfectly pieced and pressed. Just an amazing quilt to see and aspire to. Islay, you are such an inspiration! Islay started with a jelly roll and adding her white background achieved a beautiful finish!
Leslie Ford was the long arm quilter on the quilt using edge to edge design Bossa Nova and top thread is Glide Pistachio.

Val Schilds

Val Schilds brought her beautiful flannel Christmas Owls quilt in for us to long arm for her. The flannel is so soft and cuddly and the fabrics she chose to go with the panel are perfect! Soft teal blues and tans are a gorgeous combination.
The edge to edge design that Leslie Ford, our long arm quilter, used is called Becker's Winter Wonderland as well as Glide thread Sea Green for the top.

Katherine Field/Tracy West

This time we have a very special
Grandma/granddaughter team of quilters. There is the mom as well but I couldn't get her quilt in here too, so it is posted below.
We have Katherine Field and her granddaughter Tracy West who have piece together the Camping S'Mores quilt and brought it in for us to long arm. The daughter, Kari Quintal, also brought hers in and it is shown below. They are all the same pattern but different backing. Is this not the coolest family heirloom ever? We don't have a lot of 3 generation quilters and this one is incredible. Love these ladies to pieces.....makes coming to work even better.

We have Tracy's quilt on the left and Katherine's on the right. Beautifully pieced and beautifully quilted by Leslie Ford using an edge to edge design called Camping #1 and Glide threads for the top.

Scissor Sharpening

Scissor Sharpening by Wicked Edge
We have discovered a fellow in town, Rick Walker, a fully certified, scissor sharpener who will come and sharpen your scissors here at the shop.
Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.

Cost is $10 a pair.

Sewing Machine Repair

Bill will be able to bring machines over to Salmon Arm to Hector and Tammy Symes for repair and services. Have your machines in to the shop by end of business on Tuesday Sept. 12 and get your machine back on Thursday.
I will let you know how Bill's schedule works as it unfolds. Bear with us as we try to schedule everything in.
