Meet Your Neighbour
| |
This week meet Pam Jeffries, lover of fabrics, mentor for the next generation of quilters and a super lady to get to know!
Pam was born in New Westminster, BC and lived in Surrey until 8 years old. The family then moved to Kamloops where she completed her education, graduating from Kam High. After graduation Pam worked at the Bay, was a stay at home mom for a few years before returning to work for the Health Clinic. She started work in the Health field on the North Shore and then continued downtown Kamloops until retirement.
Pam started sewing as a young child, sewing outfits for her Barbies. That naturally evolved into sewing clothes for herself which continued for many years. About 10 years ago she took a course in quilting at Katja's Quilt Shoppe when it was up the hill by Aberdeen Mall. Pam's mom was a quilter so she had lots of help and inspiration. Pam's favourite part of quilting is choosing the design and then the fabric choices. She pets them as much as I do!!
Pam pieces and quilts her own quilts on her domestic machine and is very skilled at it. What is really cool is that she is passing that love of fabrics and quilting on down to the next generation. We are all so lucky to have someone willing to teach what they know of quilting to the next generation coming. Our art form is sure to survive due to people like Pam.
Thank you Pam for sharing your story with us all and for sharing your knowledge of quilting. Hats off to you girl!!

Elf Booties
Are these just the cutest ever? Personally I think they would be a terrific part of our staff uniforms for the upcoming festive season. LOL
Create a pair of darling elf booties in an afternoon. They are the perfect addition to whimsical holiday decorating. Or, use them as gifts with surprises and treats tucked inside. Approximate Finished Size: 2½" wide x 3½" tall x 7" long.
I would have to adapt them for each member of staff, but I really think they would be cool! Bill is not excited about this at all. Le sigh.......
If you would like the link to make some for the grandkids or for gifts click on the link: https://www.nancysnotions.com/media/pdfs/nn/elf-booties.pdf
