Meet Your Neighbour
Meet LaRae Johnson! LaRae is an avid quilter and is one of our favourites!
She was born and raised in Seattle , then married and moved to British Columbia. LaRae has been sewing since the mid 1970s but really took off with her quilting in 1987 after the birth of her daughter.
We asked her which part of the quilting process is her favourite and she said that she really doesn't have a favourite. LaRae loves to choose fabrics, sew the quilts, quilt the quilts and do the binding! In other words she is completely addicted to quilting and won't be stopping any time soon.....LOL
Truly a wonderful lady and if you are lucky one day you may meet up with her in the shop!

Christine Drewe
Christine was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous quilt she has made for her daughter.
This time Christine wanted to use the free motion technique as she wanted the quilt to be loosely quilted.
The quilt turned out beautiful and I am sure her daughter is going to just love it!

Christine Drewe
Christine brought this quilt in to show us her masterpiece. the pattern is taken from an Australian magazine.
She hand embroidered the quilt with stunning applique. Applique is her favorite method and I can sure see why!
She hangs the quilt in the entry way of her home so everyone can see as soon as they come in the door.

Diana Hewins
Diana Hewins was in to long arm quilt this beauty of a quilt she designed. Much like Agnes Olsen, Diana likes to start from one little idea based on a technique or fabric and build her quilt from there.
She fell in love with the stripe fabrics and just let the fabric take her where it wanted to go. I have to say ......... what a fabulous outcome to a stripe fabrics in odd colours and random sizes.
Really loved this one, Diana! Thank you for sharing with us all!

Diana Hewins
Diana Hewins was in to quilt this darling little baby quilt. All made from Bamboo and cotton it is so soft!
The super special part about this quilt? She quilted it with a teddy bear panto in glow in the dark thread! Isn't that the very best idea? We all had to run into the bathroom after it was quilted to see it glow. Yep.....it was a group activity!
Great inspiration Diana!
