Heather Nymeyer.

Heather Nymeyer was in to longarm her gorgeous Ocean themed quilt. She did choose to add to the borders to make the quilt a bit larger, so to be more useful for a lap quilt.
On this particular project, Heather started with a panel and used an Attic Window format to build it out to a lap quilt size. It is like looking through a window at the ocean with all the sailboats.
The really interesting part is that the backing for the quilt is our super bright under water scene that we just got in . It is a wideback so that made it that much easier. Heather calls her quilt the Above the water and Below the water quilt.

Sharon Marple was up from Kelowna with her husband to pick up her quilt we did for her. This one is a big one measuring at 98" x 98".
I absolutely fell in love with the fabrics she chose for her quilt. I think my favourite part is the pop of orange throughout the quilt. It really is important to try for light, mediums and darks in the fabrics when working with scrappy. I think it just makes everything stand out that much more. My opinion anyway.

Due to rising numbers in the Covid cases in the Interior we have been mandated by the Provincial Government that masks are now mandatory.
Masks must be worn at all times in the shop. The numbers allowed in the shop stay the same ....limit of 10.... and we have the hand sanitizing stations still at the door and at the till.
We ask for everyone to be respectful and considerate towards all small and large businesses out there. Together, with kindness and calmness we will get through this. Thank you.

Changes coming Oct 1st to Longarming

As of October 1st we will have only the Thursday, Friday and Saturdays open for quilting your own quilt.
The Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays are for us quilting customer quilts and quilting store samples.
We hope this will streamline things a bit more and make the staffing easier to work with. Heather's attempt at being Martha Stewart. LOL

Pat Muldoe.

Pat Muldoe was in to long arm quilt her gorgeous scrappy quilt. Pat did an amazing job of colour and fabric choices. This one is again a large one.Using the pattern Turning Twenty, she did a great job of it!
I think she still has a substantial stash as it seems that the scrappy quilts hardly make a dent in the piles! LOL
Pat is a bit of a newbie to quilting and has certainly found her new favourite hobby! She loves to learn new techniques and try different approaches with colour and pattern. This is just one of the reasons we love it when she comes in!
Thank you to Pat for inspiring us and your enthusiasm is so infectious! Love it!

Paulette Eccleston

Next up we have Paulette Eccleston with her dramatic 20 patch quilt. Paulette works mainly from her stash which as you know can be a challenge to find enough pieces, that are big enough and will all play nicely together.
This one is a simple pattern, but really effective when the fabrics are all friends. How Paulette consistently does this is just amazing! And just to add to all of this....most of Paulette's quilts are large bed size. I don't think i have ever seen a table runner done by Paulette!

Dona Kobyashi.

Dona Kobyashi was in to long arm quilt her two quilts. Dona uses the computer only as that is what she is the most comfortable with. First up in the morning was the smaller of the two and before you know it, she was done!
Being that she still had the afternoon left to quilt she ran home for a sandwich and another quilt top. Not too sure what kind of sandwich she had for lunch, but she sure had a lovely lap quilt to do in the afternoon. Cobalt blues and fresh whites created a truly lovely quilt. Pretty darn awesome when you can get 2 quilts quilted in one day!

Sewing Machine Repair

A little bit of a change to the machine repair schedule.
Bill has rescheduled when he will visit his dad in Salmon Arm to Wednesdays. He will bring your machines out to meet up with Hector in Salmon Arm. there is no added cost for Bill to bring your machines over to Salmon Arm.
Hector then takes the machines back to Kelowna to service and you get your machine back the following Thursday.
