Towes-Sewing-Machine-Repair-and-service-abbotsford-mission-chilliwack

Hector and Tammy will be this Thursday Sept. 24th to get your machine up and purring like it should!
Old machines, new machines, sergers and embroidery machines. ..... they do them all!

After this week they are taking a much needed break and will not be back until the end of October. Don't miss out on getting your machine tuned up and running smooth for the upcoming winter quilting and sewing times. Machines can be dropped off anytime up until that morning.

We do need to know how many machines are coming so give us a call at 250-376-7630 or you can email me at info@fabricshelf.ca

Laura Napier and Lynda McGarvie

laura napier

How is this for a spectacular quilt?

The project was pieced by Lynda McGarvie using the Nocturne line of fabric by Maywood Fabrics.
Pattern is by Eleanor Burns of Quilt in a Day quilt company.
Laura Napier did the long arm quilting using the panto called Carpet of Leaves. With a soft grey glide thread they had the quilt done by mid afternoon!

Just a beautiful quilt ladies and well done!

Paulette Eccleston

paulette eccleston

Paulette Eccleston was in to long arm quilt this gorgeous quilt she has made from her stash! This time Paulette chose a different panto called Bauhaus so she was coming out of her box....at little bit but very successfully!

Paulette did a great job on the long arm quilting which was a bit more complicated than usual. She aced it but she was working hard! Using Glide thread eliminated chances of broken thread so that definitely
helped to keep things moving smooth!

It was a crazy day at the shop and we want to thank Paulette for her understanding and patience. Was a fun day as always with Paulette and thank you for sharing with us all!

Sandra O'Reilly

sandra-oreilly-3

Sandra O'Reilly was in to pick up her quilt that she had us quilt for her. This one was a kit that we had in last month.
The fabrics were gorgeous and the free pattern was a great way to use a panel to maximum effect!
The quilt is going to relatives of Sandra's who love the neutral tones. With this colour palette it is sure to fit beautifully into their home.

Thank you to Sandra for letting us quilt your quilt. As always you did a super job on the piecing to make our work so much easier! Well done!

Tidy Tote

Carey Callander was in to show us her amazing Tidy Tote Bag she made on the weekend.

Yes, you can fit the stacking drawer type storage bins, all your notions and more! I had never seen anything like it and was blown away that she actually made this project!
The first photo is the bag all opened up and the second is the zips done partially up.

Pattern is called Tidy Tote by Anita Ellis of Hillside Quilting.
Bosal foam was used to give the bag the stiffness needed.
Fabric used is by Tula Pink.

Website for Hillside Quilting is https://www.hillsidequilting.com.au

Sheila Nystoruk

sheila-nystoruk-2-2

Sheila Nystoruk was in to show us her charming child's quilt. She got her inspiration from Pinterest and made it work for her. No pattern, just her own imagination!

Her first thought was to have the colours work like the colour wheel, but that put the white and the black in positions she didn't care for. From there she just went with what she liked and it is gorgeous!

Congratulations Sheila, on a quilt that some little one is going to truly cherish!

Buttermilk Basin

wool-work

Irene Laird made this darling pillow as a store sample for us using the book shown " Christmas at Buttermilk Basin".

She has used a tonal cotton for the pillow base and wool fabrics for the applique. Irene's pillow has a zipper in the side for ease in washing. She always does such beautiful work with attention to detail and her skill level is amazing!

We carry the book as well as wool pieces. You can see them in the shop or check them out on line at http://www.fabricshelf.ca
