Looking for Quilt Donations

As many of you know or have heard the fires close to Kamloops have been devestating this summer with many people losing their homes or facing substantial rebuilds.
We are looking for Quilt and or Pillowcase donations to send out.
We are operating as a drop off place from where they will be taken directly to the people impacted.
I would like to thank Lyle from Secwe`pemc Child & Family Services and the United Way for their help in assisting to get the quilts to the people who need them.
A huge thank you to Drina Latrace who single handedly created over 100 pillowcases with her sew group. Drina, you are amazing and I want to thank you for your constant caring for your community!
There are hundreds who lost homes and possessions so there is a great need for quilts and pillowcases. Drop your new quilts and pillowcases off at the shop any time from Monday through Saturday 10 - 5.

Verna Miller

Verna Miller was in to long arm quilt these 2 darling quilts with help from Bill. She had both quilts done by the mid afternoon so was a very happy lady!
Verna chose to use Glide Affinity Rainbow thread, which is a variegated thread, on the bright red, blue and yellow quilt for a eye popping finish. Edge to Edge design chosen is Puppy Paws. This is so cute with the paw prints marching across the quilt.
The second quilt in the greys, mints and pink she chose for the edge to edge design Shazam for a modern fresh look using Glide thread Prickly Pear. The design chosen was an excellent accent of the quilt with a Chevron looking design.
Thank you to Verna for sharing with everyone!

Joan Frazier brought her gorgeous lap size quilt in to be quilted. The black, yellow and sage is such a pretty combination. I actually have a version of this quilt at home on the back of a couch and it is so pretty!
Leslie Ford did the long arm quilting using Edge to Edge design called Trap Swirl and Glide thread Yellow Whisper for the top.
Thank you to Joan for sharing your talents with us all!

Annette Nicholson

Annette Nicholson brought her beautiful Halloween quilt in to be quilted. Annette used the Disappearing 9 Patch pattern with a great combination of oranges and blacks. I love the softer look of the oranges in this one.
Leslie Ford longarmed the quilt using the Edge to Edge design Spider Web and Spiders and Glide thread Strawberry Blonde for a great finish. Don't you just love the border fabrics?
Thank you to Annette for sharing!

Loretta Buckingham

Loretta Buckingham brought her beautiful lap size Toronto Maple Leaf quilt in to be quilted. The quilt is going to a family member who is an avid Maple Leaf fan, so it is sure to be much loved and used!
Leslie did the longarming using a very appropriate Edge to Edge design called Hockey Stick Meander with Glide thread Blueberry. One of my favourite parts of the long arm machine process is being able to have any design at different sizes by using the computer.
Thank you to Loretta for sharing your quilt with everyone!

Joan Lauer

Next up we have the always lovely Joan Lauer with her amazing queen size quilt. Joan used jewel tone batiks on solid black for high contrast and a spectacular finish.
Leslie used the Edge to Edge design called Windswept and Affinity rainbow thread for the finishing touches. With lots of the black negative space available using Glide variegated Affinity thread was ideal!
Thank you to Joan for sharing your beautiful Scrappy Jewel Tones quilt with us all!

Liz Brown

Liz Brown loves the colour green and if you can add sunflowers even better! She absolutely nailed it with this quilt she brought in to be longarm quilted.
Liz chose the Edge to Edge design Seamless and Glide thread Aloe for Leslie to work with for a great finish!
I would also like to add that Liz is planning on donating this quilt to the quilt drive we currently have happening. The quilts are all going out to people in the Shuswap area that have lost so much in the summer wildfires. Collection is at our shop, with quilts and pillowcases needed. Thank you Liz, you are amazing and an inspiration to us all!
Thank you also to Liz for sharing your quilt with everyone!
