National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
|
|
We are closed on Sept. 30th for National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
Take the day to enjoy the diversity that we all are so lucky to have in Canada and to celebrate the beginnings of a more open and honest insight into who we are, where we have been and where we are going.
We would like to thank the local bands for their business at our shop and for educating us on what it means to be First Nations. The culture is fascinating and you should be rightfully so proud.

Blessings of Winter
|
|
Last kit of Blessings of Winter in the shop! Gorgeous quilt from Shabby Fabrics finishes at 55" x 63" for your wall or couch. Kit includes all the fabrics for the top and binding, pattern and a bin to keep it all in!
We did not include the embellishments as they add a ridiculous price to the kit and most of us have stashes of buttons and little add ons. The Dollar Store is a great place to pick up embellishments as well.
Order your kit today or come pick it up in the shop.

Dawna Mercer
|
|
Dawna Mercer created this incredible quilt from Fibreworks.Done in applique the quilt is only her second quilt ever!! Dawna's choice in colours and layout is perfect! Dawna chose to use fusible applique with a narrow zigzag on all the edges. The grey background allows the vibrant flower fabrics to really stand up and say Hello!
Not only that but.....she made 2 of them!!!!
Leslie Ford long arm quilted the quilt using the E2E design Modern Curves with Glide thread Light Grey for the top.
We have the patterns on order and they should be here next week. If interested call the shop at 250-376-7630 to reserve your pattern.
Thank you to Dawna for inspiring us all!

Jill Robinson

|
Jill Ropbinson really surprised me with this quilt. Every so often she likes to rattle things up a bit and this time I was so surprised to see all the bright batiks. Jill often brings in more of the earthy tones. Hmmmmmm
Her quilt was quilted using the E2E design Daisies Galore and Glide thread Avacodo. Thank you to Leslie Ford for the quilting. Thank you to Jill for sharing and for keeping me on my toes. LOL

Cheryl Seaborn
|
|
Cheryl Seaborn brought in her Autumn placemat panel to be quilted. She left the panel a complete piece of fabrics, had it long armed, cit the placemats apart and put the binding on! What a very cool way to quickly get those placemat panels done and on the table!
the panel was quilted using the E2E design BoraBora for a swirly all over design. Glide thread Dijon was the thread of choice for the top.
Thank you to Cheryl for getting us all going! Great project!

The Tilda stars quilt finishes at 69" x 92" for a perfect sized twin bed. For the E2E design Meghan chose Flower Power with Glide thread Linen for the top.
*** Photo is of Gloria (Megan's daughter) and the granddaughter.***

Linda Grist
|
|
This one is pieced by Linda Grist for her queen size bed. A simple but very effective pattern of 9 patch squares with a sashing in between. By having the background in whites and the 9 patch in clear colours, the pattern is allowed to stand up and say hello! Notice that she is such a keener.....she even made the pillowcases!
The E2E design she chose is Becker's Crop Circles with Glide thread Bone for a great finish!
Thank you to Linda for sharing!

Janome 5700 Accessory Package
|
|
Included in the Memory Craft 5700 is the Clothsetter, embroidery hoops, instruction manual and foot pedal. Yes, there are machines out there without a foot pedal. This machine comes with everything you need to sew, quilt and embroider!
Correction from last week...... there are actually 29 of the embroidery cards!!!!
You just pop the card into the slot on the side of the machine. The designs then show up on your screen, select which one you want to embroidery and it will tell you which colour to use. You do have to hoop the fabric, which comes with the machine. Attach the hoop with a click to the machine, press start and watch the magic happen! With designs of everything from Christmas, baby, floral, dogs, cats and more you are in for a lot of fun! I know I sure loved mine!
Delores never used the embroidery because she didn't realize she actually had it! LOL
