Looking for Quilt Donations

As many of you know or have heard the fires close to Kamloops have been devestating this summer with many people losing their homes or facing substantial rebuilds.

As the cooler weather sets in the quilts and pillowcases are sure to bring much comfort at a very difficult time!

We are looking for Quilt and or Pillowcase donations to send out.

We are operating as a drop off place from where they will be taken directly to the people impacted.

I would like to thank Lyle from Secwe`pemc Child & Family Services and the United Way for their help in assisting to get the quilts to the people who need them.

Thank you to everyone who has brought quilts and pillowcases in. Your generosity is so appreciated.

There are hundreds who lost homes and possessions so there is a great need for quilts and pillowcases.

Tuesday October 3rd Rick will be here to sharpen your scissors. Bring them in by the end of business on the Monday and have your scissors back on Tuesday afternoon!

Rick comes with 40 years of experience and does a great job! He will even sharpen pinking shears, grooming shears and more.

Shirley Hucaluk

Shirley Hucaluk came in to long arm quilt her amazing Quilt called Elysian by In the Beginning fabrics. The colours and the fabrics are so gorgeous! The border!!! This one flew off our shelves very fast and no.....I do not have any more of the border print. LOL

Bill was the helper on the quilt using Edge to Edge digital design Dragon's Breath and Glide thread Mint for a spectacular finish!

Val Berggren

Val Berggren brought her gorgeous quilt in for us to long arm quilt for her. This one starts with a panel of the deer in the woods. It looks to me as thought this is an Autumn time of the year, judging by the leaf colours and dusting of snow. Val complimented the mood of the quilt with scrappy patches in the borders and a perfect balance of fabrics.

Leslie Ford did the quilting using an Edge to Edge design called Joyful and Glide thread Mahogany for a great finish!

Anne Lewis

Anne Lewis brought her amazing quilt in she made for her son. This one is all in Stonehenge fabrics and is a perfect balance of colours for the scene of forest and mountains. This is one of those quilts that when it is a flimsy it looks good but when quilted becomes something fantastic!

Leslie quilted the quilt using the Edge to Edge design called Pinecone Meander with Glide thread Celery.

RIH Raffle Quilt

The always fabulous group of ladies who make up the RIH Auxillary Quilters is back with their raffle quilts and they are amazing! One is a whole cloth quilt which I am  positively drooling over, and the second prize is a gorgeous quilt that is reminiscent of a maze of pathways. Beautiful blues, beiges and white to create the  serene atmosphere.

Tickets are $5 each and available at the shop. Come on in to purchase your tickets here at the shop!

Sewing Machine Repair

Machine servicing by Hector and Tammy Symes for a great job and fast turn around.
Bill is over to Salmon Arm each week to see his stepmom and will bring your machines over for Hector to service on the Wednesday.

Have your machines here by the end of business on Tuesday and you have your machine back on Thursday!
