Here we go again.

Due to rising numbers in the Covid cases in the Interior we have been mandated by the Provincial Government that masks are now mandatory.
Masks must be worn at all times in the shop. The numbers allowed in the shop stay the same ....limit of 10.... and we have the hand sanitizing stations still at the door and at the till.
We ask for everyone to be respectful and considerate towards all small and large businesses out there. Together, with kindness and calmness we will get through this. Thank you.

Marg Hanson

Saturday in the long arm room was all about Marg Hanson! Marg arrived with this gorgeous quilt to be done using our computer system.
Marg has a long arm machine but not the same computer as ours. She fell in love with it and learned so much from Bill. Her computer design is called Flirtacious which was great for locking down those seams and giving a light airy look.
Thank you Marg for sharing your day and your talents with everyone! Welcome to Bill's harem! LOL

Joyce Tomm.

Joyce Tomm brought her stunning quilt in for us to quilt for her. This one is an anniversary gift for her daughter.
Joyce actually joined 2 panels horizontally and then created the borders to bring it out to King Size. The really interesting part is that her daughter chose the outer border fabric a while ago and Joyce had to figure out how to make this all work somehow. I think she absolutely nailed it!
Are you wanting to get some of your projects quilted? We are at a week to a week and half turnaround. To get an estimate of what your quilt will cost to be quilted : length x width x .03cents. You can just bring your quilt in with batting and backing 4" larger around or send an email to me at info@fabricshelf.ca

Monna Manhas

It isn't often we show a flimsy instead of a finished quilt, but this one is just too spectacular to wait. Monna Manhas made herself a promise to create a quilt for each of her kids. This one is the last one I think and is 4 years in the making.
The Bargello pattern is called Entwined and pretty darn intense. Monna brought it in for us to long arm but thank heavens she said to not rush. After all it has already been 4 years. LOL
We are trying to figure out how to quilt it as she does not want an edge to edge design. hmmmmmmmmm.......Just really not sure what we should do. If anyone out there has any ideas I would love to hear. We are spinning a few ideas but always open to more.
Thank you to Monna for sharing your incredible quilt with us all!

Verna Miller.

Verna Miller was in to long arm quilt another beauty of a quilt this week. This one reminds me of the Boston Commons pattern.
With the Deep chocolate browns and fresh peaches and mint toned fabrics this one is just yummy! What a gorgeous quilt and I know that someone is going to be very happy to have this one!
Verna used the computer program as well for those perfect results! She is becoming quilt the pro star at all this long arm quilting!
Thank you to Verna for sharing with all of us !

Devona Hay

Bashful Devona Hay made this gorgeous project bag for her cross stitch and other needlework projects. She did not want to photographed but she was fine with you all having a chance to see the project bags. However I did manage to get her lovely sleek arms in the photo! I am sure you all are very impressed with Devona's arms. We were.
This one is made from a new fabric we have in the shop called My Happy Place in bright colours! Devona now is making her project bags very specific for her needs, so is quite comfortable changing things around on them.

Elodie LeCerf.

Elodie LeCerf brought her lovely log cabin design quilt in for us to quilt. Don't you just love the orange she used in this one? I do. It reminds me of the past summer here in the Interior of BC.
Her tones in the quilt are actually more earth tones.....greens and browns. Elodie did a beautiful job of working her palette of light to dark fabrics.
Lori Dewart did the quilting and she did great! Lori used the computer program, Glide thread and her extensive knowledge to achieve these great results.
Lori and Elodie were quite the team on this one and I hope we can put them together again soon. Imagine what they will come up with next!

A little bit of a change to the machine repair schedule.
Bill has rescheduled when he will visit his dad in Salmon Arm to Wednesdays. He will bring your machines out to meet up with Hector in Salmon Arm. there is no added cost for Bill to bring your machines over to Salmon Arm.
Hector then takes the machines back to Kelowna to service and you get your machine back the following Thursday.
Hoping this all makes sense to you. If you have any questions please give us a call at 250-376-7630 or you can email us info@fabricshelf.ca
***Please note that the price of the servicing is going up by $10 to offset Hector and Tammy's travel costs up from Kelowna and back. **** We have openings for machines to be serviced. Don't forget that Hector and Tammy service sergers as well.

Quilts for Fire Victims 2021

The fire situation has settled to a large extent now, finally. Was certainly a bit of a roller coaster ride for the summer. I think this will be a summer to remember for sure!
Quilts have been collected at Katja's Quilt Shop and ourselves for the evacuees. Marg Johnson and Cheryl Dyck did an amazing job of getting the quilts out to the people wherever they were evacuated to. Thank you so much to you both.
And now a huge thank you to everyone who sent or brought quilts in. Almost 2000 people from Lytton have received a quilt hug thanks to you all. Pretty remarkable when you can step up to the plate and send your love and hugs in your own time of stress. Thank you all so very much.
At this time we are going to start winding things down. Well done to you all and you can be so proud of what you have accomplished.
